The General Department of Customs and Excise earned $1.7 billion as custom income in three quarters, a year-on-year decrease of 6.8 percent.

The figures was shared in a monthly meeting held on Thursday chaired by its director general Kun Nhem.

The nine-month income is equal to 71.9 percent of 2021 income plan.

Incomes earned from import taxes on vehicles and machineries accounts 42 percent of total income, Nhem said, added that other goods imports 28 percent, oil import 23.5 percent, and building materials and other service 6.3 percent.

For export side, Cambodia exported $8,241 million worth of garment products in three quarters, a year-on-year increase of 11 percent.

Export of non-garment products –bicycle, electronic parts, electric parts, auto spare parts, lights, processed luxury wooden products, plastics, leather, and other products were valued at $3,379 million, skyrocketed by 51 percent compared to that last year.
